My name is Kirby Sommers and I am a tenant’s advocate. Some people call me a renter’s advocate: it is basically the same thing.
Over 20 years experience in real estate.
My name is Kirby Sommers and I created LandlordLinks.Net in 2006.
The goal is to get you in front of your prospective landlord, papers in hand, and not behind any broker.
Back in 2005 I became involved in a large volunteer effort to help displaced Hurricane Katrina survivors. You can read a New York Times article about that here. It changed my life forever. I realized I could help renters in New York (and soon in other cities/states) the same way my volunteers and myself helped Katrina survivors find new homes across the United States.
The people who help me run LandlordLinks.Net and our sister company, AptStar, are Hurricane Katrina survivors. They work from home in the various different states and cities where they relocated many years ago. Some of them know more about New York than they do about their home town. All of them think the rents in New York are crazy silly.
But, enough about us – let’s talk about you.
You have kept us in business for well over one decade and we always vallue your input. Many of you use the Landlord Links e-guides to find rentals with larger landlords/management companies. For smaller landlords you usually come to me for my personalized help through AptStar (which now has its own website here).
But you wanted more. Direct access to smaller landlords and a place to share your own rental needs.
We heard you loud and clear.
We are now accepting posts from smaller landlords. The ones no one knows about but everyone loves. Oh, and you can now post your own ad. Our end goal has remained the same: we want to make the rental process transparent and less complicated. This way you can save money and focus on your life.
Renting made easy. Since 2006.
